Meet the Designer
Hi I'm Sandy and I make jewellery from silver clay and glass.
I found out about silver clay a while ago when trying to find something to occupy myself after taking early retirement.
I attended a class and was instantly hooked!!
Silver clay is made from tiny particles of silver reclaimed from industry (such as photography and x-rays), bound together with a binding agent to form a clay-like substance. When fired in a kiln the binding agent burns off to leave 99.9% silver - purer than sterling silver and recycled too!
Once I'd begun I found I loved making things and so I started Silver Moon Crafts to create unique eco-friendly jewellery in a variety of styles, incorporating different materials such as gemstones and glass as well as silver, to reflect a variety of moods and occasions.
Each piece is lovingly and individually hand-made using recycled silver. Some of the pieces also incorporate fused glass from my husband's glass workshop.
